Established in 1995 and
based in the Chicago land area, API-KOLON is the sales liaison for
Kolon Industries Inc. A pioneer in the engineering plastics field,
Kolon Industries continues to play a major role in the chemical
industry, competing with international chemical companies for market
share, they are leading the way in the recently opened Korean
market.
Listed with the Underwriters Laboratory and since the
commercialization of PA6 resin in 1980, Kolon Industry operates
Korea's first commercial PBT resin plant. Turning out 60,000 tons
annually of more than 300 varieties of Polyacetal, Nylon, PBT, and
TPE resin is the product of our forty years of accumulated polymer
technology. We continue to expand our product scope, participating
actively in the Polyacetal business in a joint venture with Toray of
Japan. Another key field at Kolon Industries is special engineering
plastics, represented by TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), alloy resin,
PET resin, PEN-PET copolymer, and various special and high-function
resins - all have been developed by Kolon Industries.
