CAE or "Computer Aided Engineering" means the system of
solving engineering problems through computer
simulation. Initially, CAE was introduced to machinery,
civil engineering and construction field, and was
applied to injection area rather recently.
The injection molding
is the most productive among other plastic process, and
is often used for plastic process alongside with
extrusion process. In the process of injection molding,
product design, selection of resin, mold design,
injection condition setting, etc. should be decided. It
spents most of time for securing the stability of mass
production with regard to injection. To reduce the total
development time, it is required to shorten the time for
mold design and injection condition setting.
In the past, these
issues have been dealt with trials and errors. Now, the
CAE system for injection molding has resolved many
problems quickly. The CAE deals with analyzing flow,
cooling, shrinkage, warpage, and stress. The software
verifies problems that may occur during the process,
resulting in the best molding condition and design.
